Selimbe is a small self-sufficent village in Koronande which was founded as a refuge in -6280 at a time when the Kirani tribal lands had been occupied by enemy troops. Many legends surround the village. It is said for example that in times of danger the Elders may petition M'pimpi to make the village impossible to find by its enemies. Other legends say that the village is protected by the Panther God Ingwe whose servants patrol the surrounding jungle. More recent rumours suggest that the village is also protected by Mawu or even by one of the Unthlatu. In return for the protection from the gods the village is reputed to have agreed to take in refugees including those fleeing powerful enemies and even those who have committed crimes (but are repentant). This policy applies irrespective of race and religion so the village always has a few non-Kirani inhabitants. The village is famous for its fine stone weapons and has a trade station on the River Koros where these and other well-made goods may be obtained. |
