Mawu, Queen of the Night, is the sister of
M'pimpi. She is the Goddess of Darkness but also many other portfolios including Reason, Dreams, Tinkers,Thieves and Thief-catchers. Some say it was her rather than M'pimpi who created Man,
fashioning him from the clay on her potter's wheel. Some say also that she is the elder rather than the younger sister Of M'pimpi.
Mawu often uses owls as messengers (or bats to those that can understand their speech).
