Quinden

Quinden is small steading built around a keep erected by the City of Damkina to protect its important trade route to Bighsdale to the west. The current owner of the Keep is Baron Drampinhill who has built up a garrison of over a hundred troops. His bullying and extortionate ways have not made him popular with either the villagers or travellers on the trading route. Most look to the Lady Starlight whose tower is directly outside the steading boundary to offer some protection from his threats and there is great tension between the two.

The steading boasts a large three storey inn (The Wayside Inn) and a relatively new temple to the goddess Brigit (although historically there has always been a shrine to her here). In addition to the immediate population of the village there are a large number of farms in the area mostly strung out along the road. The farmers, many of whom are halflings, look to the patrols of the keep's garrison to protect them.

Because of its position the village has attracted some craftsmen who belong to the Damkina Craft Guild including Umluk Handhammer the dwarven smith. Arley Cronk the alchemist is a former member of Damkina Sorcerors' Guild but has not paid his dues for several years.
