Pelor is the Neutral Good God of the Sun, Strength and Healing who is mainly known in Sudland as the patron deity of the ancient
Pelorean Empire in the North before it was destroyed by the
Great Darkness. The influence of the Pelorean Empire never extended as
far south as Far Sudland (although you could argue
The Shackles is part of its legacy) so some may find it strange that Pelor has so many worshippeds on the
Gherant Coast.

Many (with a lot of hindsight) have seen the current state of Westcrown as an object lesson
in the reason why it is a bad idea to graft a foreign religion onto a state in a different continent.
Those nodding along wisely to this assertion need to look at the bigger picture for the city of
Boren is very much a successful Pelorean culture and to a lesser extent the religion has had a benign effect
on the other cities of the Gherant Coast.
Pelor is most often depicted as an older man, still hale but with a long beard, and carrying a staff topped by his symbol of a flaming sun. His priests tend to wear yellow robes but his temples tend to be blindingly white and situated in
places where they can reflect the light. Athough Pelor's dogma is compassion, mercy and healing he can be a wrathful god where evil
is concerned and will urge his followers to action to confront it.
