Apart from the
Keep the most prominent building in Quinden is the Wayside
Inn. The Inn has three storeys and some 60 rooms for guests as well as a large common
room. In the winter the Inn tends to be fairly quiet but when the
Damkina market is in full swing it tends to be overflowing.
The owner of the inn is called Ewan and his wife Maise supervises the kitchens. Before
the Lady Starlight founded the new temple
Ewan was the leader of the worshippers of
Brigit in Quinden and he is still a respected member of that
religious community.
Although the trade from travellers along the Quinden road has been hit somewhat by the area's
troubles the increase in size of the Keep's garrison has more than compensated financially
for that even allowing for the tax increases imposed by the
Baron. Ewan, however, was secretly plotting to
have the Baron removed and was instrumental in the covert appeal to the
Overlord to have the Baron replaced. The Inn is
popular with Lady Starlight's companions and the bard, Krillan, performs there several times
a week. In return Ewan keeps them well supplied with information about the goings on in the
Keep and all the gossip from travellers.
