The Isle of the Blest is a large island to the south of Oricha. In this area are also
very many much smaller isles and collectively they are sometimes known as the Isles of the
Blest. The only city on the island is
Rallu the so-called City of the Sea-Kings but it
has minimal
influence on the rest of the island due to the thick jungle just to its north
which makes travel inland impossible.
In the rest of the island although the terrain is difficult there are several isolated
villages and settlements. The dominant religion is worship of the Moon Demon
Enfiloswhich tends to discourage visitors to the island
due to its practice of human sacrifice. In the past pilgrims of many faiths used to visit
the island to visit the famed temple of
Amfilos beneath the surface of the
Lake of the Gods. These pilgrimmages are very
rare these days due to the hostility of many of the islands inhabitants.
It is rumoured, however, that certain religious orders will guide seekers
of the temple by hidden ways through the island.
The Isles of the Blest get their name, so legend has it, because its peoples survived the
ravages of the Markrabs
rather better than many areas of Oerth. This was no doubt due to the ruggedness of the terrain.
