The Order of the Radiant Sun, based in Boren, is the equivalent of Westcrown's order
of the Order of the Golden Chalice but with a few crucial differences.
The first is that the organisation is not run by the state but by the
Church of Pelor. Then there is the Order's motto 'To Serve Justice, Mercy and the People
of Boren' which on the whole has contributed to its members being a lot more humble than those of the Golden Chalice. Lastly they are based
in the city rather than in an impregnable castle well outside its borders and individual paladins are generally present at the services
of the Church and can be approached by the citizenry after the service has finished.
The one thing the two orders do have in common is a fine military reputation and mutual respect means that they co-operate very well
on the battlefield. The Order of the Radiant Sun, however, are never deployed mob handed within the city as peacekeepers and, although it is not
unknown for the Boren Dottari to occasionally ask for assistance from the Order, usually only a
single paladin will be detailed to aid them.
It should be noted that the Order of the Radiant Sun has no authority in Westcrown. From time to time, however, criminals will flee to that city
and the Order will pursue them. There are elaborate procedures which may be invoked for the Westcrown Dottari to arrest such wrongdoers but
these are rarely invoked. Instead the local Dottari mostly look the other way while the miscreant is kidnapped and provided there are no
complications (such as connections to the nobility) that is the last anyone in Westcrown will hear of the matter.
