Shortly after
Lord Sorrowspear's failed attempt to woo the
Lady Moonmist he announced he was
journeying to the south for a few months. When he returned he was accompanied by Lady
Hyrax who has been his constant companion ever since. Many have remarked upon the simularities
in the appearance of Lady Hyrax to Lady Moonmist who indeed could be sisters apart from
Lady Hyrax's slightly darker skin, more voluptuous frame and lack of any hint of elven
features.
Lady Moonmist has obvious disdain for the newcomer and questioned whether indeed she
was a foreign noble. To preserve the peace the
Overlord has decreed that the Lady Hyrax will
have an honorific title while she is in
Damkina. For her part the Lady Starlight without actually mouthing the word
'houri' has strongly hinted that she feels the
origins of the Lady Hyrax might be different from Lord Sorrowspear's story.
Whatever Lady Hyrax's background she has proved herself both shrewd and manipulative and
has successfully aided Lord Sorrowspear in his many business dealings.
She is always at Lord Sorrowspear's side (except at Council meetings) generally holding the
leashes of her
two fearsome hunting dogs Rip and Tear. She is widely thought to have skill in the magical
arts although there is no direct evidence that she has ever cast a spell whilst in Damkina.
Although the couple are obviously happy together many people find it a little odd that there
has never been any talk of a wedding.
