Lady Aliana Megalon, popularly known as The Avenger, is probably the most famous person
in the North-western wilderlands. Fifteen years ago the Megalon estate one of the oldest
and largest in the area was attacked by a large force of gargoyles. Sadly the Megalons
had sent almost their entire garrison to the aid their neighbour,
Lord Sorrowspear, who was trying to prevent a
tribe of hobgoblins from overrunning his lands. Lady Aliana, although young, being of
Amazonian build and disposition led her father's troops but returned to find her
family had been slaughtered. Unable to trace those responsible she instead swore revenge on
all evil-doers in the region.
She foreswore living in Damkina or on her estates and journeying alone to the Final Pass
of the Guarding Range she tamed a griffon and named it Skyclaw. She then cleared the
notoriously monster-strewn area of threats and created an eyrie high up on Eagle Mountain.
She did not stop there, however, and The Avenger has swooped down from the skies to slay
monsters and blackguards from the Plain of Leith to the Range of Dissension in the north.
In addition to her martial skill she has now become a fearsome wizardress as well and wields
a powerful glaive of firebolts, an heirloom of her house.
Her eyrie can only be reached from the air but those wishing her aid can send smoke
signals up from the Final Pass. If she is not present in the area she generally responds
within 24 hours as she appears to have remote magical sight of what passes near her new
home. She rarely comes to Damkina but manages to keep in touch with
Lady Altariel Moonmist (possibly magically).
