Onhir is an ancient Elvish settlement dating back to the time of the
Dragon Empire. It is famed for its jewel-smiths
who sometimes collaborate with the elven magic users of
Anatal to create items of great beauty and power.
The forests to the south of Onhir are said to contain many small ravines where the elves mine
semi-precious stones.
Onhir craftmanship is common in the markets of
Zothay. The elves of Onhir have always had friendly relations with that city
and the majority of elves now living in Zothay and its
environs are originally from Onhir. Onhir's main market for its goods is, however,
Quitak. Elven rangers patrol the Old South Road within ten miles of their town and sometimes
further afield.
Despite its appearance as a peaceful village Onhir is well protected by magical defences and
few aggressors have been able to inflict much harm on its elven population. One such attempt
in recent years was by followers of
Set who attempted (unsuccesfully) to assassinate the leaders
of the village. The elves of Onhir would dearly love to discover the hidden temple of Set
said to be to the south in the Fogbound Forest.
