Set's followers claim he is the greatest of Gods whose triumph over all others
is only a matter of time. He is depicted in many forms but most often appears as a scaled
humanoid with the head of a jackal. Set is utterly dedicated to the
orderly spread of evil and oppression. His symbol is the
coiled cobra, though any snake can be used to represent
his power. His temples are filled with enormous serpents,
always poisonous. It is said that when he manifests himself his skin is poisonous to the touch.
Organized groups of assassins are known to be dedicated
to his worship. Many of his worshipers tattoo themselves
with serpents or cobras. His priests carry staves worked on one end
into the head of a cobra.
The cobra head is normally tipped with steel fangs
coated with poison. In this way it is said the former Tyrant of Zothay, Zennon,
was assassinated. His successor, Kristas the Red, has banned the worship of Set
in the city on pain of death.
Set's clerics also often carry a stylized
black spear, representing the Spear of Darkness he
carries. .
