Diancecht was an elven hamlet until orcs invaded the region 500 years ago. The elves
took in a large number of human refugees and an alliance of the two races defeated the orcs.
Now the hamlet of 500 - 600 souls is a perfectly harmonious and integrated community and
the majority population is half-elven. Further most of the community worship both
Cilborith and
Athena. An annual festival celebrates the harmony of the
community and ends in the enactment of a symbolic marriage between the god and goddess.
The culture of the hamlet encourages craftmanship and a small number of dwarf and halfling
craftsmen have also taken up residence here.
Although the chief purpose of the busy market is to supply the local community a number
of ships have taken to dropping by as the goods on sale always fetch a reasonable price
elsewhere.
This has encouraged the halfling community to grow pipeweed to trade and the pipeweed fields
have grown in size in the last few decades making it a highly profitable industry.
