Befalls is a small village nestled in the hills to the west of
Sursa Gales
and just off the
Cleft Road. The population is 70% human, mainly of
Tharbrian stock with a minority of halflings,
half-elves and gnomes.
The hardy sheep of the area provide both superior wool and delicious mutton and the
villagers always have great demand for their produce. The village is therefore quite
prosperous but life as a Befalls shepherd can also be quite dangerous as rustlers too know the
value of the Befalls herds. A particular hazard are the Hill Giants from the nearby mountains
who love the taste of the mutton. Strangely they never use their strength to attack the
shepherds but have become quite stealthy (for giants) and often the first a shepherd knows
he has lost some sheep is seeing a large figure striding away in the distance.
