Vidrian is Far Sudland's newest nation having been created by a slave revolt barely four years ago. Originally
a colony (Sargava) founded by Tanturak nobles for the purpose of commercial exploitation
of the area the colony ceded control to the Tanturak government in -439 in order to have the Tanturak navy
protect its merchant fleet.
One of the most famous incidents in the colony's history occurred in -132 when a whole population of
Halfling slaves disappeared overnight leaving the colony's government and law enforcement somewhat red-faced. In -79
the colony secured independence from Tanturak whose government were increasing questioning the financial costs of
deploying its navy in the area. The revolt in -4 started with the slaves themselves but quickly spread
to other non-slave owning areas of Sargavian society.
The year following the revolt proved difficult for the new government which suffered continual skirmishes and attempted coups instigated by the pirates who objected to the ending of the finacially rewarding slave trade.
A full scale invasion by a pirate fleet, however, ended in defeat for the pirates and the acquistion of additional
ships for Vidrian.
