The Thunderscale Warrens are the home of the Thunderscale kobolds, the largest of the kobold tribes inhabiting the
Mediogalti Island jungle. The tribe are famous for painting their scales with vivid plant dyes and also for their worship of the larger dinosaurs as gods. Their bizarre religious ceremonies include capturing one of
their 'gods' and then placating it by releasing it amongst a crowd of worshippers to let it trample or tear to pieces whoever it
wants.
Despite they violent ceremonies the tribe, who reside in caves not far from Ilizmagorti, are
friendlier to non-reptilian life than other kobolds and may be hired as reliable jungle guides for a small fee. They also
trade to a limited extent with the city. Popular legend insists that the Warrens sit on top of a mine rich in gold and jewels
but the sheer size of the tribe and the maze-like structure of their home means that even among the more reckless inhabitants
of Ilizmagorti there is no one stupid enough to attempt to find out whether this is true.
