Aabar Crustiddle is one of the few halflings in Tarantis who owns his own business. He
sells bread, pastries and pies which are good value and his shop is well frequented
by other halflings and the poor of the city. Although his shop is busy Aabar is fairly poor
himself as he is generous to a fault with his money and will often sneak in 'bonus items'
into bakery orders from poor families. He is. however, a cheerful person although his constant
punning is not to everyone's taste. He has four brothers who style themselves 'adventurers'
and are always travelling the nearby countryside looking for treasure and trouble. In his
shop he is helped out by his wife Dora and his sons Dagon and Solon as well as an apprentice.
He always takes on an apprentice for a year and then tries to find them a job elsewhere in the
city where 'trained by Master Aabar' is a recognised baker's qualification.
Aabar is a follower of
The Maid and does his best to encourage traditional halfling
values in the Tarantis halfling community. He holds services to the Maid in one of his rooms
above the shop although the community suffers from having no recognised cleric. About
twenty five halflings regularly attend this service including many of his former apprentices.
