Retford

Retford is a small village on the road between Ragenport and Pell's Hold. It has a population of about 250 if the surrounding farms are included of which over 95% are human. It is possible that the village has very ancient origins as the owners of the Black Unicorn, the main village Inn, say that it was built before the founding of Cambria itself.

The village is very prosperous because not only is it on the trade route between Ragenport and Pell's Hold but also it is on the route from Sambia to Pell's Hold. The Black Unicorn has many rooms and is frequently full. Its common room and the common rooms of the other village inns are a good place to pick up gossip and tall stories from Cambria and further afield. Many of the other village traders also make a healthy amount from passing travellers.

The village has its own little band of King's Men much to the embarrassment of many of the residents. They have all been banned from the Black Unicorn but on most days can be found drinking outside the Red Dragon and abusing any passers-by that they dont like the look of.
