Thellagon the Mariner, also known as Thellagon the Founder and Thellagon the Kelnorian was
the first of the Rallu Sea Kings. He sailed three vessels to the current site of Rallu in BCCC
3333, named according to legend 'Peace', 'Justice' and 'Freedom'. Freedom was damaged on the voyage and dismantled on the
beach to provide timber for the first of Rallu's dwellings. Thellagon proved a wise and
resourceful leader and the colony prospered, slowly expanding in the thirty years of
Thellagon's rule.
For such a prominent individual, however, little is known of Thellagon's past. The original
colonists were said to come from Viridistan
but although there are traces of Viridian ancestry in the
population the basic stock would appear to be
Ghinorean. The ony other 'fact' known about Thellagon's
past is that he was descended from a long line of admirals from the
Kelnorian Navy. Viridistan, however, is not
a city which values or has preserved Kelnorian tradition and is it difficult to understand
precisely where in the Wilderlands (apart from
Damkina) such a tradition (to say nothing of
family records) would have been preserved.
A guess would be that he was of Ghinoran stock himself, a noble from one of the fallen
Ghinorean Successor States who educated himself in
Kelnorean lore. He was possibly a second son, a character born to rule, but likely to be
denied the opportunity. He was enrolled in his country's own navy but was exiled due to
political intrigue and fled to Viridistan. There his talent led to a rapid promotion in the
navy but eventually he fell foul of the authorities and was forced to flee with his followers.
The largely Ghinoran stock of his crews were the result of his preference for men from his
original homeland and suggest he understood that another exile was a likely scenario. The Green
Emperor would likely have taken such a defection very badly which explains Thellagon's desire
to keep Rallu's location secret.
