The small temple of The Maid in Quitak is a relatively
recent addition to the city's temples having only been in existence for some twenty years.
It was founded by the current priestess, Griselda the Gentle, the previous halfling
tradition being to worship The Maid in shrines set up in halfling homes.
Griselda is a retired adventurer who having been born is Quitak had vowed to set up a temple
if she ever became wealthy. She has a single assistant, Poppy and both are immensely popular
in the halfling community for the charity the temple shows to halflings in need. As a result
many halflings who had turned away from the traditional gods of their race have turned
back to worshipping The Maid. Griselda also allows informal worship of other halfling gods
within the temple provided there is not too much of an alignment conflict.
Griselda is a great believer in self-help and would like to see a few more halfling-run
businesses within the city. She is much encouraged by the opening of a new halfling run store,
Stomper Trading, right next to her temple.
