No Name, a village situated on the Lodalf plain, seems to have originally been a settlement of the Pelorean Empire probably first founded in the years between -3911 and -3825. Archeological evidence suggests it was attacked by the Frost Giants in the Long Winter of -3825. This possibly caused the human population to flee to other towns and it may have been re-occupied by non-humans after that time. Certainly it seems to have escaped the utter destruction that other human-occupied towns suffered in -3131 and may even have been occupied during the Great Darkness or at least some part of it. At some point in this history, however, the original name of the town was lost and those coming to resettle it seem to have little interest in re-naming it. Perhaps they thought that giving the settlement a name would be more likely to bring it to the attention of the forces that might overwhelm it. At the end of the Great Darkness when first the dwarves of Ironhold rediscovered the village it seems strange that they also did not know its name but perhaps they were simply unsure on which of the old towns the village now stood. At the current time No Name is recovering from having been occupied by Orcs fleeing from Ironhold. It has, however, re-established links with Backdoor. Although some new immigrants from the South have been welcomed into the village in general villagers are much less certain about the program of building works being initiated by Ironhold dwarves. Also the constant digging up of various building's cellars has led to the rumour that the dwarves are looking for a lost gold mine. The new mayor has promised to bring in regulation to control such activity. Apart from the occupants of Ironhold its main trading links are with the Forest Orcs to the east and Wishton and Lakehold to the West. |
