The Sederi are not recognised by the other tribes of Miredor as a Phemaire ('People of the Sea') tribe. Rather they are
describe as Phesahre 'People of the Desert' as are the current tribes of the
Great Desert.
The two groups are, however, clearly related racially although
the complexion of the Sederi is generally darker than the other tribes, and they have
dark eyes, and coal-black hair. The men have a preference for well-trimmed beards and moustaches while the women tend to braid their hair.
The tribe settled in the southern foothills of the
Yellow Mountains at the south western end of the chain. Unlike the other tribes they saw no
need to adapt their lifestyle to their new land which they found remarkably similiar to their original homeland before the
Great Darkness. They have a semi-nomadic existent relying on hunting and gathering plants from
the hills. Practically from birth they are trained to use weapons and the leader of each of their fourteen tribes (the 'Macu') is
generally the most able warrior (women are eligible to compete for this honour). The clans meet at two festivals each year which
mark the spring and autumn equinoxes to discuss matters of common interest, resolve disputes, arrange inter-tribal marriages and
elect a Macu for te next six months.
The main deity of the Sederi is Ascuru Hudari, the God of Struggles, who the Elves equate with
Corellon_Larethion. Of particular interest in Sederi society is their
habit of sending promising individuals to be trained as Mor Tarain monks. These monks, who are revered as superb warriors, are
also worshippers of Elenala and exercise a calming influence on the clans. They eschew standing for the post of Macu.
