Athena's Gifts are five legendary artefacts of the Temple of Athena from the days of the
Empire of Kelnore. At least two of them
were lost in that age and the remaining three were lost in the subsequent ages. Prophecies
say that if they were ever to be re-united they would usher in a new Golden Age for mankind.
The artefacts it is said were protected from misuse because only those dedicated to the
goddess, a cleric or paladin of Athena, could use them. The legends say, indeed, that the use
of one of the artefacts attracts the
attention of the Goddess herself. Further when not in use the items could be disguised
as as part of the Temple's stonework and were thus never stolen. Although many assume the artefacts
to have been destroyed
the Temple of Athena itself says that the Goddess blessed the objects so that they were
nearly indestructible and therefore they must still exist, although hidden and lost.
