Tekritanin League

Many thousand of years ago Osirion, having thrown off the yoke of the Nubian Empire, sought to establish itself as the pre-eminent power in Far Sudland. Its main rival in this regard was the Jitskan Imperium in the west but sandwiched between these two powers were the nomadic tribes and cities of what is now known as Thuvia. In order to defend themselves from the encroaching powers to the east and west of them these tribes formed the Tekritanin League, primarily as a defensive alliance.

The ambitions of the rival powers in the region in the end forced the League to pick a side and they joined forces with Osirion. In -7413 the joint armies of the League and Osirion overthrew the Jitskan Empire. The Pharoahs of Osirion, however, had little regard for their allies and for the next thousand years forced the League's cities to pay tribute making the League a vassal state. Eventually increases in the level of tribute created sufficient opposition in the lands of the League that a resistance movement grew up forcing the Osirion army to overthrow the League's leaders and replacing them with a governor appointed by the Pharoah. The new province of the Ossirion Empire was named Thuvia.
