Long ago before the rise of the
Pelorean Empire, in a time little remembered even in the legends
of men, lived a great kng whose name was Malpheth. So great and good was he that the Gods granted him immortality
so that he should reign forever. So wise was his rule that all races acknowledged his kingship even the mighty dragons. All races but one. The Elves in those days ruled a mighty empire and they were jealous of Malpheth
feeling that the younger race of men had surpassed them in wisdom and power. Driven by their envy the Elves attacked the
peaceful kingdoms under Malpheth's rule but they were defeated and Malpheth called on them to meet him
to end the bitter dispute.
The Elves, however, were treacherous and sent seven warlocks, versed in a dark and powerful magic, into the very
halls of Malpheth. There, despite their arcane might, Malpheth would have easily defeated them but the Elves
aimed their magic at the very foundations of the earth causing the collapsed of the land for many miles around
and destroying thousands of innocent lives as the waves swallowed the countryside. The reckless Elves, however,
could not control their own magic and may thousands more perished as the sea took city after city consuming not only Malpheth's lands but most of the lands of their own empire. The Western Isles are all that remain of the lands of the Elven kingdoms but for a few scattered islands in
the Great Ocean.
So ended a Golden Age in which Paradise existed on Earth. Sadly almost all of the men under Malpheth's rule, save
for a few sages who preserved the memory of that time, perished in the cataclysm. The Elves fled to the coasts and as new tribes of men moved into the West the Elves taught them many false stories about the past. Men therefore
constructed a God, Pelor, in imitation of the Elven God Corellon Larethian and few realise that the prayers and
rituals of the Pelorean faith go to sustaining an Elvish God.
So how might the Golden Age come again? Malpheth had nine great servants, kings in their own right, who helped him rule the world, It is said that only when these servants again rule their lands will Malpheth return. In this part of the world the ruler was Rakasha the Great a benevolent king who was also subtle of mind and a master of magic.
When the time is right it is our duty to summon him back from the Far Realm in which he dwells. You shall know the time by earthquakes and extreme weather which signal that the barrier between the Far Realms and Earth can be
broken. Kingdoms will founder but then Rakasha will return to smite his enemies and punish all those who have persecuted the faithful.
In the meantime much sacrifice will be needed from the faithful but it will not be in vain. When the Golden Age returns the faithful will be rewarded, no man shall want
for anything and even Death shall be no more.
