Karfas

Karfas (or Karvod) is a Kenzin village that owes everything to its position on key trade routes. Originally it grew up around the stronghold of a local warlord who was keen to control both road and river traffic but the structure was cursed, it was said, because the warlord used enslaved dwarves to build it who he then slew on its completion. The tribal connections of the warlord tend to vary depending on who is telling the tale but the stronghold quickly fell into ruin and only a crumbling tower remains which is slowly being swallowed by the forest.

Since the road and the river are separated by quite a distance the village has a double centre Karfas 'proper' and Far Bank.
