Hell Harbour gets his name from the numerous imps that nest like storks on the roofs of the port's houses and
fly rather ominously above the harbour. The lord of the port is disgraced
Tanturak admiral Arronax Endymion. Before he became involved with the losing side in a
game of political intrigue he was a great lover of opera. He therefore had at great expense an opera house built
in Hell Harbour, the Three Horned Hall, which is famed all over the region. The operas are well attended by
those trying to curry favour with Arronax even though they are all sung in High Tanturak, which only a tiny proportion of the audience understands.
Arronax is paranoid that the Tanturak authorities will send assassins after him. The movements of all new faces in the port are therefore carefully noted by his spies.
