Travellers in the northern jungles of
Mediogalti Island may come across a large but strange settlement in the canopy of the trees.
This is Ganda-Uj, a collection of tree bark huts precariously balanced on rickety platforms, swinging vines and swaying bridges.
It is the 'capital' of the Monkey Goblins, a numerous arboreal tribe much prone to waylaying the unwary with nets and poison
darts.
Scholars speculate that unfortunate captives are not eaten but saved to be sacrifices in hideous rituals performed for the demons
who the goblins worship They also maintain that thanks to the goblins fascination with fire the whole settlement has been burnt down and rebuilt on a different site at least five times.
