Situated in the south of the Yellow Mountains near Lake Aeluin away from prying eyes is an exclusive monastery which only takes pupils by invitation. The monks have little contact with the outside world and the monastery is mostly self-sufficient. As it is only half a days ride from the Pel Way the monastery is hardly hidden as it has a high peaked copper roof that can be seen for miles around. Nevertheless there is a single steep track that approaches it from the West which although well-maintained is rarely used. The monastery fields and gardens are on a mountain plateau that cannot be reached (other than by expert climbers) except through the main building itself.

The order of monks is known as the Knifeless Ones and unbeknown to all but a few of the Dominion's citizen's the reason for the monastery's isolation is that all the monks are lycanthropes of various kinds. They train for combat in hybrid form and are considered extremely dangerous warriors. The Dominion's rulers tolerate this situation as long as they keep to themselves but they are on Arsiriel Silvertongue's list of potential 'Dangers to the Realm'.
