In theory the laws of Damkina protect the right to worship any god or goddess (even devils
and demons). In practice the culture of Damkina is heavily tilted in favour of those
of lawful good alignment. Besides the
Closed Temple there are only two temples in
Damkina; one of these is dedicated to the God
Glor'Diadel and the other to the
Allworthy. Anyone wishing to build another temple
in Damkina has traditionally been met with the argument that there is no need as you
can worship any god in the temple of Allworthy which is the official state religion.
It must be said that although to us the worship of Allworthy is full of intellectual
contradictions and compromises the general population seemed satisfied with the doctrine
and perhaps 60% of the population worship him with another 20% worshipping Glor'Diadel
(alhtough he is favoured by a much higher proportion than this amongst the nobles and
craftsmen).
The remaining 20%, which worships a collection of other gods, tend to perform their
religious rituals in private.
It is an open secret (although offically denied) that despite the precautions that the
Overlord has taken there is a small cult dedicated to Arthranax in the city. The only
debate is whether the cult has found a way round the wards and is actually using the Closed
Temple itself.
