Allworthy is the Lawful Good Patron God of
Damkina. He is worshipped by maybe 60% of
the populace there but his worship is almost unknown outside of that city. The Patriarch
of the temple is always an official advisor to the White Overlord (interestingly the current
Patriarch appears to be out-ranked in his own temple by a High Priestess but he still gets
to be the advisor presumably by some pedantry).
Allworthy doctrine appears to be an amalgam of dubious compromise. He is said to embody
the virtue of all other gods and goddesses which is supposed to justify the claim of his
priests that all may worship in his temple. In practice this just means that you may
think of your god or goddess's name instead of Alworthy's as you go through the temple
ritual. Unless your god or goddess is like Allworthy in character, however, this rather
renders the ritual meaningless and despite claims to the 'virtue of all other gods' he
does have a particular character of somewhat smug goodness. As you can tell we didn't
particularly take to Allworthy (although we did to Glor'Diadel) and are having trouble
maintaining our scholarly impartiality. On the bright side his clerics do good works
and there is no sign of human sacrifice in his temples.
I guess the main problem is that is debatable whether Allworthy actually exists since
we suspect (and will probably verify by our research eventually) that he was a kind of
compromise candidate for the role of Damkina patron god when the province seceded from
the
Empire of Kelnore.
