Copper Crown Mine

The Copper Crown Mine is one of several small dwarven mines in the Uldana Spine. Despite the copper vein that the dwarves are working there being not a particulaly productive one the closeness of the mine to Riavod mean that it remains economic to work it with transport costs being relatively low. An extended family of twenty dwarves work the mine and while not rich their income compares very favourably with physical work in the city.

As with all the mines run by Thelor's folk in the area it is legally just a small part of a very scattered dwarven kingdom. Thelor's folk have warm relations with the Sankar state and the dwarves pay taxes to Sankhar on their produce. They also have warm relations with the dwarves of Mountain Hall who have an embassy in Riavod. Some of the miners are old enough to remember the concert tour by the great Maountain Hall bard Falarin who played at every mine in the area to a rapturous reception. Part of the Mountain Hall embassy is used as a consulate by Thelor's folk but in practice the two sets of dwarves will always help each other out. An example of this happened recently when the embassy assisted in clearing out a group of cloakers from the Copper Crown Mine. A cleric from the embassy was able to use his dog as bait to great effect to trap the cloakers.
