With Count Draku now dead Isky addresses a crowd outside the Nobles Quarter
telling them that his reign has come to an end and the true heir to the throne, her sister Eleanor, will now
enter the City. She then marches through the streets searching for any
Geogoths that haven't heard the news telling them to lay down their weapons and
disband. Regular army units who had been defending the walls then march out of the City and Lord Fairchild's
troops march in.
The new Queen takes advantage of the fact that the country is still legally under marshall lore as it enables her
to enact many things immediately, before her coronation which is planned for six months time. She offers Lordships to all the party but only Firmon takes up the offer. Brin, Dove and Lady Hawkesly all agree, however, when their turn comes. The Lords' Council is expanded
into a Great Council and Medalric, even though his focus is now on his own spiritual development at his monastery, agrees to be a member. Other noteworthy members include Sir Elwin Sandheaver and Sir Roric, Captain of the Watch.
Isky is appointed General of the Army and Freya agrees to become a Lady in Waiting. Daelhaelin becomes a Cambrian
citizen (well a Cambrian Lady) and takes up the post of Archmage.
Eleanor also announces her priorities for her first year as Queen. The highlights include:
- Citizenship to be offered to all intelligent races living in Cambria.
- Pell's Hold to have an elected mayor.
- More resources for the Watch to tackle crime in Pell's Hold.
- A Great Council representing many interest groups to advise the Queen.
- The disestablishment of the Church of St. James but Crown support
for all branches of the Pelorean church.
- Support for a network of healers and hospitals across the nation.
- Repairing diplomatic relations with the Elvenwood (and other neighbouring countries).
- A change to the laws of inheritance so that gender is irrelevant. This law to be phased in.
- Disbanding of the Geogoths and abolishing of the tax that supported them.
- Former Geogoths to undertake public works for a year under supervision from the regular army.
- Aid to the Northern Plains (formerly known as The Waste).
With regard to the last point Eleanor strongly hints she hopes that Gale will accept some formal role regarding her former
home even if she turns down a Lordship (which she is still considering). As regards the other party members
Rumpkin, having recovered his village's jewel from Draku, wants no responsibility and to continue adventuring.
Dwain meanwhile considers the Dwarves still have unfinished business in the North and departs for Ironhold promising
to return for Eleanor's coronation.
