Long before the founding of Iredar a small village grew up around the ferry station at the junction of the Shrike and Little Sellen Rivers. Perhaps twenty years ago the village having already been hit by the failure of various attempts to colonise the Stolen Lands suffered a terminal attack by a large beast perhaps even the giant owlbear recently killed by the new colonists.
The actual docks on either side of the river are in good shape but Bea and Hardin who intend to settle here have much repair work to do on the tavern they intend to occupy which is the village's only stone building. All the other buildings need extensive repair work and have lost their roofs.
Hardin named the village Bea's crossing after Bea swum the river to inspect the docks on the other side (a particularly impressive feat for a dwarf). The ferry itself was missing. The site is on an old trade route from the South, with the nearest existing River Kingdom town being
Mivon. A number of Bea and Hardin's friends have since passed through
Guilin on their way to Bea's Crossing.
