The Agasha Dag is a mighty forest on the northeast shores of the
Tangara Naji just beyond the borders of
Sankhar. It is a dense primeval forest that is difficult to travel through
although few mortals have tried as it is the home of the
Eastern Elves, a branch of Elvenkind less friendly to humans than their western kindred.
Whether for their own protection or simply because they are unwelcome the Eastern Elves do not permit members of
the human cultures surrounding them to enter the forest. In any case although the Elves have made paths through the dense
forest these trails are almost invisible to the human eye and are difficult to follow and in addition they tend
to be guarded by tree-forts which are again almost impossible for mortals to spot. The only army to even attempt to enter the forest
(the Eastern Horde) did so by setting light to the trees. This
provoked such a storm of arrows and lethal magic from the Elves that the Great Khan decided that the cost of
conquering the Elves would be too high and that he would leave the
the forest alone.
The Elves have a chief city, Kugavod, set on the shores of the Tangara Naji by the mouth of the Vol Kug. This city,
known as Rhubar in their own tongue, is impossibly difficult for human navigators to reach by sea due to the
reefs and shoals (and it is suspected magical distractions) surrounding the entrance to its harbour. Elven
ships, however, frequently sail from that harbour to trade with all the ports on the Tangara Naji.
With access to the forest so difficult it is not known what other creatures might lurk under its eaves but it is
rumoured that a community of
Firbolg are living in its depths although they seldom, if ever, wander from the
protecion of the trees.
