This barren island just off Mediogalti's southern tip has a single inhabitant known as 'The Hermit'. He lives in a rude shelter
made of driftwood and has done so as long as anyone can remember. Now a doddering old man he appears to be both deaf and mute. No one can say how he came to be there, what his name is or why he chose the life that he has (he refuses any well-meaning attempts to help him off his island).
As a result of the mystery surrounding him many wild theories have sprung up as to who he might be from a marooned relative of
a powerful pirate lord or member of the Red Mantis to a fallen god. The only
theory with any factual information behind it is that he may have some connection with
Eye of Abendego. He is often seen, when the Eye expands and lashes the eastern coasts of
Mediogalti, standing on the eastern edge of his island being whipped by wind and rain staring towards the centre of the Eye.
