Leif Roundbottom is a hulking ex-sailor and adventurer who retired to Tarantis and purchased
a bakery when he was wounded by an ancient cursed blade and lost the strength in his
right arm. He is one of the few inhabitants of Tarantis of obvious
Skandik descent and indeed in the past has been arrested
by the Blue Cobras on the strength of just that. He was released, he says, because it was
clear he had
little interest in politics and also little regard for the regime or culture of
Ossary. He says those were the reasons he settled in Tarantis in
the first place and the Cobras have left him alone since.
At 6' 5" he and his longtime assistant, a halfling named Endor Burr, make an incongruous
pair but they get on well and Endor is known to be rewarded with some of the profits of the
business. Many expect that Endor, who as a result is well off, will eventually buy the
business from the older Leif. The business specialises in breads and rolls of all types rather
than fancy pastries and it is Endor who bakes the more exotic loaves.
Beside Leif and Endor the shop is run by a second assistant Grunsh. This
civilised and gentle half-orc is one of the few of his kind in such a role in the city; most
orcs and half-orcs are labourers or bouncers.
Leif loves a good yarn and has been known to offer a discount to the teller.
It is rumoured that he has a few activities on the side and that not all of these are
legal.
