The Eight Star Tavern is a bawdy bar located in the vilest section of town. The drinks are
cheap. and the customers are
usually rowdy. The featured entertainment consists of a raucous band; the band is enthustastic,
if unskilled, and the customers
hardly seem to notice the din created in the name of music.
Intrigue, however, surrounds the owner of the tavern, one Lep Stax. He has apparently been
arrested three times on suspicion of treason and each time acquitted.
Given the ruthlessness of the High Court of Tarantis one would surmise that Lep Stax must
have friends in high
places, be extremely efficient in eliminating witnesses or possibly be a double agent. He
is therefore probably a good man to avoid for those trying to keep a low profile in the city.
