Characters may use their 'Animal Handling' skill to interact with wild animals.
The interactions are covered by the old 'social influencing' rules on p72 of the 3.5 PH.
Once you 'fail' a roll to influence an animal you may not use the Animal Handling skill in relation to that
animal for the rest of the encounter.
Only 'natural' animals may be interacted with in this way
Characters get advantage when interacting with the species of their totem animal
Dire and 'possessed' versions of the animal can not be influenced by Animal Handling. If these are aberrant
versions of their 'totem' animal, however, characters may use a d6 sneak attack when fighting them.
Other forms of the animal which are intelligent e.g. Celestial, Fiendish, Fey, Awakened etc. may be influenced
using the standard social interaction skills e.g. intimidation.
The (good) animal Gods are hostile to certain forms of animal e.g. Dire, Possessed, Fiendish, Undead and will
be only too happy to see them killed. Clerics of M'pimpi may try to perform an exorcisism to expel the spirit in a 'possessed' animal.
Apart from the animal types listed above the (good) animal Gods will generally disapprove of killing animals
except for food or in self-defence.
