Statiswells is one of a number of orc communities in southern Oricha where the orcs
have been 'civilised' by converting to the Skandik religion. The village was founded when
the wandering orc chief, Azbat, rescued a group of sea-elves from pirates and friendly
relations ensued. The village is sited next to the sea elf community and provides a market
for a trade in pearls. Also in the village are a group of orc sages using it as a base
for their search for a lost Skandik artefact. They themselve originate from an
integrated Skandik/Orc settlement further east and the orcs rule the village with due respect
for all races creating a stable and prosperous environment.
Their leader is now Orme, Azbat's son, and although the population is dominated by orcs and
half-orcs humans, elves, dwarves and other races make up nearly half the population.
