Hautulin Seheitt is the Green Emperor, Lord of
Viridistan, God-priest of
Armadad Bog and reputed to be with his wife
the last of the race of
True Viridians. He came to the throne in a bloody
coup, entering the palace on the occasion of the wedding of the daughter of the Emperor,
Cneninadus,
to a non-Viridian. Citing this as blasphemy against Armadad Bog he slaughtered the Emperor and his family
and most of the guests with the aid of his beautiful
but insane wife, Murielle Eidn, and eight demons. Ironically this action may have spelt doom
for his race as ten of
the twelve remaining True Viridians were killed in the bloodbath.
Hautulin Seheitt is an accomplished magic user who has boasted he knows every arcane spell
used in the Wilderlands. He has proved a cunning and resourceful Emperor who has dealt
ruthlessly with any opposition to his rule. Despite commanding the most powerful army
in the Wilderlands Hautulin has mostly preferred bribing, corrupting and subverting
neighbouring states and his agents, the Black Adders, and the sinister priests of Armadad Bog
have much influence beyond the actual borders of Viridistan. At the beginning of his rule
he brutally surpressed the
Mycretion religion and ordered his troops into
the Holy Cities. His great regret is that his only son and heir
disappeared in mysterious circumstances and even his powerful magic could not locate him.
Despite his enormous power there are whispers in the City of Spices that all is not right
with their lord. He and his wife are rarely seen in public these days and his decisions
which were always a trifle arbitary are now clearly whimsical and likely to be reversed
before they are fully implemented. The Mycretions are steadily regaining their foothold
in the city but the Emperor takes no action against them. The Warlord in
Quitak tests their common borders frequently but the size of the
Emperor's Vasthosts is increased and decreased with no relation to the external threat.
The wall between the Emperor's farmlands and the Elsenwood has recently been doubled in size,
and taxes increases sharply to fund the project, despite the Elves of that wood
having shown no signs of aggression.
Others say that this apparent weakness in statecraft is yet another ploy by the Emperor to
lure his enemies into showing
their hands.
