Grat is the strangest member of the fugitive party in both temperament and appearance.
Like Carillion he has traces of reptillian scales
on his skin but unlike Carillion his humanoid features are rather ugly and he looks more
brutish and hairy than the handsome Carillion. Nevertheless he has the same traces
of arrogance as his friend who is the only member of the party who he appears to treat as
an equal. The rest of the party tend to ignore him when he becomes unbearable at which he
tends to complain loudly in his own unintelligible language and go and seek the company
of Carillion who appears to understand the tongue.
As well as formidable fighting ability Grat appears to have some clerical spells but it
is noticeable that these are never offered freely and have to be requested by the others
when they need them. Despite spending most of his time with Carillion the two frequently argue
often about obscure bits of ancient history.
According to Keva their races have had intense
animosity in the past although Carillion and Grat have come to see that they actually share
a lot in common. It was an argument between Carillion and Grat when they first met in
Quitak
that led to the original incident in which they were imprisoned with
Garwen.
