Pardfan (called Padfan by more eastern Sankhats or even Padvan) is a small village situated on the junction of two rivers - the Fola Athorn and the Fola Salenin, the latter being the old boundary between
Logath and Marwhini lands.
The key to the map is as follows:-
- The River Docks (1). Most goods on the river will simply pass through Pardvan but some goods for the taverns
and local traders will unload here
- The Toll Stop (2). There is a small toll for goods passing through Pardvan by river or road. Manned constantly.
- The Thirsty Camel (3). The village's lowest priced and most popular inn. A good place to hear the local gossip.
Current proprietor is Thelos Hostel.
- Wagon Shop (4). Most trade is for spare parts as the potholes on the road are numerous. Filgo Westora also sells
new wagons.
- Weapon Store (5). Owned by Vosca and Belliat Forla both skilled smiths and armourers. They make highly prized
+1 non-magical weapons and armour as well as more mundane fare.
- General Store (6) Owned by former Riavod bard Henra Lodeti, who stocks many goods
e.g. magical oddments that you would not normerly see in a village shop.
- Beacon Towers (7). Lit at night and when the river is covered in mist or fog they warn craft of the turbulent
water at the junction of the two rivers.
- Tower Guardian (8). Retired marine officer Caradoc from Shrel Kain
looks after the beacons in return for his modest military
pension.
- The Ridge Lodge (9). Superb view of the river but little else to recommend it. The tavern is the preferred
drinking place for hunters and others who may arrive by foot across country. The proprietor is considerd a bit
dodgy by many in the village.
- Maritime Shop and Residence (10). Jeppa Orlot will fix any problem that a boat may have that you care to mention .
Has a spare boat to lend to customers.
- Halef's Wagon Yard (11). Secure compound to store wagons and their goods. Aldie has several contracts
with local merchants and his wife will supply suitable food for wagon teams for their journey.
- Horse Dealer (12). Former cavalryman Gendo has a good eye for horses. You may think that siting such
a business on the opposite side of the river from the road was stupid but it enables Gendo to show how hard he
and his horses are by swimming them across the river.
- Private Residences (13, 14).
- Boarding House (15). Run by a kindly widow who does not tolerate any rowdy behaviour.
- The Black Otter (16). The tavern of choice for river travellers. Black otters are real creatures that find
the confluence of the rivers a particularly attractive spot to fish.
- Private Residences (17- 22).
