The Tabaxi of Miredor are more numerous than in
Cambria and are accepted as part of the culture of the country. Their value as entertainers
and more importantly sources of information by far exceeds their unfortunately careless attitude to other people's
property. Many Tabaxi these days regard Miredor as home and satisfy their wanderlust by just perpetually touring
the Seven Dominions. These Tabaxi tend to outnumber considerably the bolder families who still make the dangerous
journey from the jungles in the South.
Many non-Tabaxi families in Miredor have got into the habit of offering passing Tabaxi a meal in exchange for hearing
the latest news or merely keeping their children amused for an afternoon. Businesses such as taverns and eating
houses will also offer Tabaxi food and drink in exchange for their skills as troubadors. These establishments
are also the favoured location for Tabaxi to meet clients in their role as information brokers.
The Lords of the Dominions are known
to cultivate the friendship of certain Tabaxi families in exchange for information and normally a generous reward
in gold as well as provisions.
Although the Tabaxi have little protection in Dominion law they do have the protection of custom in all of the Seven Dominions. Abusing a Tabaxi would be heavily frowned upon in most local populations to the point
where it has not been unknown for armed vigilante groups to form to avenge the death of a popular Tabaxi
entertainer.
