Kentashar was settled by the remnants of a defeated orc army 500 years ago. Not strong
enough to survive by raiding the orcs took to trading. Their chief export is salt which
they obtain from the surrounding marshes and sell to passing ships. The village has had a
peaceful enough history but in recent years the renegade Amiondel Elves have gained a malign
influence over the towns rulers and encouraged the orcs to form a warband which can often
be seen drilling outside the village stockade. It is not known what target the Elves
wish the Orcs to attack.
Not all the Orcs are happy with this turn of events, however, and strangely they have been
turning to the
Skandik gods for support. The local priestess of
Freya is known to be the leader of the opposition to Elvish
influence. She has sufficient following to make the village leadership hesitant about making
a move against her whatever their Elvish allies may want. There is also a small human
and half-orc population in the village.
