Kelizar's Atoll

Kelizar's Atoll is a small atoll in the southern island chains of The Shackles. It would be unremarkable apart from the fact that it happens to be the lair of the dragon Kelizar, an adult brine dragon (a sort of aquatic version of a black dragon, with a bluish tinged skin that makes it hard to spot in the sea).

Kelizar has a reputation for not being particularly agressive or evil for his kind and if he approaches a ship he can generally be bought off with proper obsequiousness, treasure or even information. He is known to be keen to start some kind of sea-based kingdom which would include all kinds of aquatic creatures. Although he has no ambitions to include humans in this empire he is a keen student of human history and particular enjoys tales of the ancient empires of Nubia and Ossirion.

All this lore did not save Captain Zara 'Stormeyes' Dahaoth and her ship the Saber's Kiss when she sailed too close to the Atoll. The one piece of information that she lacked was that Kalizar was the son of Nicorydine a dragon killed in an encounter with a pirate fleet that contained the Saber's Kiss. Kelizar swiftly sank the vessel which now rests at the bottom of the Atoll's lagoon.
