Kardavan

Kardavan is a small village situated in a valley close to the banks of the Fola Salenin and famous for its winemaking and vinyards. Its red wine is widely celebrated and the villagers make a good living from this trade enabling them to import everything else they need to live on.

The key to the map is as follows:-

• Ruined Wall (1). Wall which crosses the valley but now in ruins. Dates back to the time of the first incursions of the Gnoll Horde.
• Maladov Winery (2). The largest winery in the valley. A formidable and defensible structure it too dates back to the time when it was feared Gnolls could penetrate this far into Sankhar
• Davnos Kardigan's Shop (3). Davnos is the elected Master of Kardavan. He is also the proprietor of this shop which is stocked with everything the inhabitants of the valley would normally need. Known for his trading skills the villagers trust him enough to order rare and valuable items confident that he will obtain them for a fair price.
• Hunters' Hall (4). A large wooden meeting hall owned by Fregi Palon it also doubles as temporary accomodation for hunters based in the valley. A roaring fire is always lit on cold nights and in the winter months.
• Valgavia Rogava's Hut (5) Not to put too fine a point on it, Valgavia is a practising witch and doesn't pretend to be otherwise. She also sells non-magical herbal remedies.
• The Inn of the Dancing Dog (6). The only tavern in Kardavan luckily boasts the best food (and local wine) on the Fola Salenin. For those who can afford the prices Kardavan is a must stop on any river journey. All the local gossip can be had here and the proprietor Winlos Forgar will know all the gossip from up and down the river.
