Haghill
Haghill is only a small village but it is protected by a castle as it is on the strategically important Twilight Road from Quitak to Thunderhold (which becomes the Rorystone Road further north). The trade route is an ancient one and it is believed the main (reputedly haunted) tower of the castle is older than Quitak itself.
For the past 14 years the castle has been held by Sir Huberic, a larger than life character, with an appetite and girth to match. When Sir Huberic goes to the village he likes to surprise the local animals (and peasants) by cracking his 20 foot whip behind them to make them jump. He originally alarmed the villagers by occupying the haunted main tower; something that none of his predecessors had dared to do. He did, however, take the precaution of sealing off the dungeon levels before he did so. He is popular with his followers because he is free with his gold to those who please or amuse him.
