Grindwell is a trading centre situated on the mouth of the Tethoir River. It has a
mixed population with the majority being dwarves and the next largest proportion being
elves. Its main exports are furs and alchemical ingredients harvested from the Underwing
Jungle. The harbour is difficult to approach without a pilot due to the shifting sandbanks
of the estuary.
In theory the Tethoir River should provide a shortcut to the
Holy Cities for those pilgrims pressed for time. Local guides
and pilots, however, refuse to go further than ten miles up the river for few who have ventured
further have ever returned.
