Poseidon

God of the Sea, Rivers and Earthquakes

For much of the known world Poseidon is the rather minor Chaotic Neutral God of the Sea whose shrines and tended by ex-sailors. In Rallu, however, he is worshipped as the Lawful Neutral Patron God of their city. They see no conflict in this regard saying that Poseidon was a major god of the ancient Empire of Kelnore and he is only interested in statecraft of Cities with just laws. Whatever the case few would say that the City of the Sea Kings has not benefited from his patronage.

At his main temple in Rallu a bull is sacrificed to him annually. This is said to be in recognition that cattle and horses were a gift from him to humankind. He is depicted as a somewhat distant if benign god who can be moved to terrible wrath if angered flattening cities with earthquakes or tsunamis. In Rallu they say that other Sea Gods fear Poseidon and will not interfere with the voyages of his worshippers the success or failure of which is down to Poseidon alone. His symbol is a Trident and he is often depicted holding this weapon and surrounded by merfolk and tritons.
