Pharasma is the Lawful Neutral Goddess of Birth, Death, Fate, Prophecy and Time. She is considered one of the most powerful gods of her pantheon and graveyards in the most ancient civilisations have revealed she has been
worshipped by humans possibly longer than any other god. Even the other gods, it is said, recognise her as the most just and
dispassionate of gods and her pantheon recognise her as the sole arbiter of the fate of mortals after death. She is
generally depicted as a tall ash-skinned woman with white eyes and wild, flowing white hair who holds an hourglass filled with red sand in one hand.
Her temples in large cities tend to be large gothic cathedrals with hospitals and universities attached as part of a complex of buildings. Underneath the complex there tend to be extensive catacombs. Although worshipped especially by the poor the faith is not short of rich donors
particularly from those nearing the end of their lives. The poor see her as a goddess who treats all equally whatever their social station but the rich still believe they can curry favour with her by making donations to her temples. As a result her universities tend to have a very large stock of expensive and rare tomes.
Her priests may double as midwives and physicians but lay members of the faith are also recruited to these jobs and
wear the silver religious symbols of their calling. Her priests when conducting rituals tend to wear black robes trimmed with silver or purple but at other times may have more colourful robes of blue, white and purple with silver highlights. The neutrality of the faith extends to treating enemy soldiers on the battlefield and such is the status of her priests in society no commander would dare interfere with this practice. Her faith, although welcoming to all, finds undead abhorrent and any practice or items that trap souls are considered beyond the pale.
